Carpentry Cost in Singapore (2026 Guide)

Custom carpentry in a Singapore home

Carpentry is usually the single largest line item in a Singapore renovation — and the one that most defines how a home looks and works day to day. Wardrobes, kitchen cabinets, TV consoles and storage are all custom-built, so the price depends on what you build, the materials, and the finish. Here's how to think about it in 2026.

How carpentry is priced

Most renovation carpentry in Singapore is quoted per foot run (the running length of the cabinetry), with the rate depending on the carcass material, the door/laminate finish, and the internal accessories. As an indicative market range, laminate carpentry commonly runs from around $150–$300+ per foot run — solid surface, glass, and premium finishes sit higher.

The cheapest quote is rarely the best value in carpentry. Carcass thickness, edging quality and hinge/runner brands are where corners get cut — and where problems show up two years later.

What's the difference between laminate and solid surface?

Laminate is a durable, cost-effective surface bonded to a board carcass. Solid surface (and quartz/sintered stone) is a premium worktop material — more seamless and heat/stain resistant, at a higher price.

Can you reuse existing carpentry?

Sometimes — we can refit doors or reface units in good condition to save cost. We'll advise honestly at the site visit.

How long does carpentry take?

Built-ins are usually fabricated off-site and installed over a few days once measurements are confirmed. We sequence it with the rest of your renovation.

The direct-contractor advantage: we're the renovation contractor, not a middleman — our own team does the work, so you're not paying a designer's markup on labour. More of your budget goes into materials and finishes.
